要約:In February 2020, the SARS-CoV-2 virus from China arrived in Ecuador, one of the most affected countries in Latin America, the rapid increase in confirmed cases and deaths has created negative emotional states in health personnel. The present research was contextualized in medical and nursing interns, being a group that is in direct contact with patients suffering from COVID-19 may present fear of infection and extreme uncertainty, these behaviors cause the development or exacerbation of pre-existing mental health problems. The main objective was to determine the level of depression, anxiety and stress in relation to COVID-19, in relation to socio-demographic characteristics in medical and nursing interns of the National University of Loja; a descriptive study with a quantitative approach, prospective cross-sectional cohort, was carried out in a sample of 100 students, applying the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21). Excel tables were used for the statistical analysis. The results show that 42% of the interns presented depression, 61% anxiety and 30% stress. These results support prevention and treatment interventions to reduce the psychological impact of the pandemic
