| Streszczenie: | Oral health during pregnancy is an increasing condition, so if we do not treat it at the right time, it can cause oral diseases or aggravate existing ones, for instance, the presence of caries, increased bacterial plaque, and gingivitis, periodontal disease, among others. The World Health Organization reflects a gradual increase in the number of pregnant women, especially in Latin American countries, due to the high prevalence and public demand, thus indicating the need for dental care for pregnant women. The research design was of a descriptive-transversal type, which aimed to determine the prevalence of different oral conditions in gestation in pregnant women, attended at the 18 de Noviembre and Hualtaco Medical units during the period 2018-2019. Based on the RDCAA of the Ministry of Public Health, we treated 147 patients during the study period, from which a sample of 69 pregnant women who we considered met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of this study revealed a prevalence of 27.53% of dentin caries and chronic gingivitis, 13.05% of pulpitis, 10.14% of acute gingivitis, 7.24% of cement caries, 5.79% of limited enamel caries and pulp necrosis, 2.89% of acute periodontitis; and 40.58% of cases of periodontal discases with a higher frequency in the second trimester. Finally, with these data, we can conclude that the most predominant pathologies in pregnant women are dentin caries, chronic gingivitis, pulpitis, acute gingivitis, cement caries, and caries limited to the enamel, pulp necrosis, periodontitis water; also, periodontal diseases are more predisposing in the second trimester. |
