Alternative guidelines, the central issue was based as follows: How Attention Deficit affects cognitive development of children from the first year of basic education of the Special Education Unit "Amazonian Lago Agrio" parish Nueva Loja Region Lago Agrio, Sucumbios province. 2014-2015 school year? He was raised as General Objective: To analyze the incidence of attention deficit in cognitive development in children from the first year of basic education. The methods used for the preparation of this research work were: Scientific, inductive-deductive, analytic-synthetic, and Statistical Model, the same that served effectively help to achieve the proposed goal. The techniques and instruments used were: an elaborate and applied to teachers of first year of Basic Education Private Education Unit "Lago Agrio Amazon" to establish the level of knowledge of the teachers about Attention Deficit Survey and girls Children, for which a questionnaire of closed questions and the selection was made; and a cognitive skills test applied to the Boys and Girls Freshman of Basic Education Private Education Unit "Lago Agrio Amazon" to assess the cognitive development. It is concluded that: 67% of teachers surveyed say they do know what is attention deficit, 33% no. With the application of the test to assess Cognitive Skills Cognitive Development, the results indicate that 73% of girls and children observed complies with any and all activities related Cognitive Skills: Perception Motor, Auditory Perception, Haptic Perception, Mental Ability Nonverbal, Puzzle, Concentration, speaking of a logical judgment, Conservation Notion, Notion Notion of Serialization and Inclusion, while 27% did not comply.
