| Summary: | Pregnancy in adolescents has been is associated with a higher risk of complications during pregnancy, increasing the complications in the newborn that is why it was believed convenient to make this research identifying the main neonatal complications in newborns, children teenage mothers and adult mothers. This research is qualitative - quantitative, the descriptive method of cross section was used, It was practices in newborns who are admitted to the Neonatal section in the “Isidro Ayora “ Regional Hospital during the period from February through April 2014. For developing It was used a data collection sheet which information was obtained from the medical records; It was found that from the total of newborns reached and taking into consideration the exclusion criteria, 38 babies were born to teenage and 38 babies from adult mothers; where the main neonatal complication in children of teenage mothers was the prematurity 21.05%, followed by respiratory distress syndrome type I. It was also found that 32.89%; adult mother’s babies had a main complication of respiratory distress syndrome t type II it led me to conclude that the main neonatal complications in newborns of adolescent and adult mothers are preventable with proper prenatal care.
