Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:The alveolitis is one of the most studied complications in dentistry, and several studies have searched for an effective and safe method for its prevention and treatment. The use of chlorhexidine gel offers great advantages; it can be placed inside the alveolus and in this way act directly on the surgical site for a long time-span. The objective was to determine the effectiveness of intraalveolar chlorhexidine gel in the prevention of dental alveolitis in patients of the dental clinic, establishing whether there are significant differences. The study population of the present investigation consisted of all the patients who attended the Service of the Odontological Clinic of the Human Health Area between the months October and March of the year 2018, who required a dental extraction, which were randomly assigned to the research groups; a population of 40 patients was determined. After extraction, 1ml of 0.2% chlorhexidine gel was administered into the alveolus. By means of the statistical analysis of Shapiro - Wilk (P = 0.482), on the seventh postoperative day of control, there was no evidence of alveolitis after chlorhexidine gel application. It was concluded that the intraalveolar administration of 0.2% chlorhexidine gel has a positive result, generating a better response to postoperative pain after closed extraction.
