| Streszczenie: | This research work is about Children's Literature: an educational resource in the processes of teaching reading and writing. Alternative guidelines. Its general objective is to determine the incidence of children's literature as an educational resource in the processes of teaching reading and writing. Likewise, we worked with the following methods: analytical, synthetic, descriptive, deductive, scientific, statistical and descriptive, using the interview and survey techniques. Questionnaires were applied as instruments, the population target was 32 human beings, distributed in 31 students and one teacher. In order to face the researched problem, it was determined that, through the educational resource of children's literature, the teaching of reading and writing is consolidated in an effective way, allowing the formation of human beings with critical thinking and solid knowledge bases. It is concluded that the teaching of reading and writing skills requires teachers ́ creativity and constant innovation. In this case, by showing children's literature as a substantial educational resource, increased interest and curiosity in the students, developing reading and writing processes based on texts created for all students, with the student being the protagonist of his/her own learning. If teaching is based on traditional resources with little dynamism, it will be difficult to build great writing and reading skills. Let us remember that while the student reads, he/she also tends to improve his writing.
