Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:In Ecuador, Mellitus Diabetes (DM) represents a public health problem, due to its high mortality rate and social cost, which affects the quality of life, economy and slowing progress. The present investigation had the purpose of determining the degree of self-care of the type 2 diabetic patient according to the Summary of Diabetes Self-care Activities (SDSCA); identify body mass indexes (BMI), blood pressure (BP), waist circumference (WC) and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) according to age and gender; determine the current status of the patient and compliance with control goals according to the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) 2017 Guide for DM. The study was a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional approach, with a sample of 54 patients from the "Amigos Dulces" club of the Isidro Ayora Hospital in the city of Loja. The level of self-care was relatively good, with a better habit of non-smoking (96.3%) and the lowest self-monitoring score (11.1%). The group with the least control was> 65 years with 87.9% of Overweight and Obesity. The female gender predominated with 87% in the study. Regarding the current status of patients, most do not meet the control goals, especially the CC with 96.3%. According to the results, if there is no improvement in self-care and patient control, serious complications of the disease will develop and the degree of disability and mortality will increase at an early age. Keywords: Glycosylated hemoglobin, overweight, self-monitoring, waist circumference.
