Добавить метку | Итог: | Historically, the fundamental role of photojournalism in society is highlighted by its significant contribution to understanding social issues, achieving the visibility of the truth regarding political and economic interests. Therefore, this research work focused on analyze the use of photojournalism as a tool for social denunciation in three local media outlets in Loja City, Ecuador: La Hora, La Crónica and Hora 32. These journals have been selected considering that photojournalism has evolved from an image that represents the reality and strength of an event to a picture that merely accompanies. In other words, simply a graphic. This investigation was conducted through a technical study of the specific genres of photojournalism employed in news related to social denunciation by the media included in the research sample. For this purpose, a mixed methodology was utilized, combining the analysis of the photographs with an observation form that consists of eight categories about compositions and photographic techniques, and nine categories related to the content and text of the news as complement of the pictures. Finally, the obtained data were represented in a frequency format through graphs. This research concludes that local media have affinity for using photojournalism genres in news related to road safety and social violence, with these topics being graphically represented without any technical treatment. Furthermore, the photonew is the genre most used by these newspapers, putting aside the photoreportage, which is the format most recommended for depicting social issues.
