Ամփոփում:Nursing professionals have a relevant role in the primary care team that has been reinforced with newfangled initiatives and experiences in the prevention and promotion of health focused on the programs established by the Ministry of Public Health, especially when addressing self-care problems at the intramural and extramural level. The present research work was of descriptive type, it was done in District 11D01-Zona 7 of Ecuador. It was proposed as finality to determine the role of Nursing in Primary Health Care with the participation of 58 professionals working in the 27 operating units. To obtain the information was applied the survey: Activities related to Primary Health Care, of (Bruno, Bustamante, & Jiménez, 2015) was adapted for the present study. It were obtained the following results: from 80% to 94% of nursing professionals in their intervention in Health Programs have a major role in the National Immunization Strategy (NIS); at the intramural level between 88% and 100% of the surveyed, they always do the management of vaccination, conservation and monitoring of the cold chain, also it is appreciated that the planning and execution of the educational process 33% never do it; at the extra-mural level from 68 to 90% of the participants, they always develop vaccination campaigns, situational diagnosis and home visit together with the Health Integral Care Team; and in medium execution, it is found the epidemiological surveillance and follow up through family files.
