| Gaia: | The purpose of this researching was to evaluate the refrigerated manual collected canine semen and epididymis post castration determining the effects of the storage time, collection source, and diluents used over the percentage of individual motility. There were used 16 dogs in a reproductive age of different breeds and were divided in four groups, the first and second group were made up of semen of epididymis post castration with the diluent CaniPRO plus yolk and CaniPlus Chill respectively; the third and fourth group were made up of manual collected semen with the diluent CaniPlus Chill y CaniPRO plus yolk respectively. The seminal quality evaluation was made in fresh and every 24 hours post cooling the information collected in the different variables was analyzed through descriptive statistics, a random design was used for the variance analysis and also the Duncan test to establish the statistic difference between averages. At the 24 hours post cooling exist a significant statistic difference between the different treatments. As time passed the individual motility gradually declined, observing the highest values in the fourth treatment. On the other hand, the effects of the collection source were significant being the best the manual collect; the effects of the diluent were not statistically significant (p>0,05) at 24, 48, 72 cooling hours, at 96, 120, 144, 168, 192, 216, 240 and 264 hours exist significant statistic difference being the best CaniPRO plus yolk. |
