The search was carried out in databases such as PubMed, Redalyc, Scielo and Science Direct, using descriptors and Boolean operators. A total of 12 studies were included that evaluated the different risk factors associated with diabetic foot in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The results showed that the main risk factors associated with the development of diabetic foot are: elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels, arterial hypertension, high body mass index (BMI), duration of diabetes greater than 10 years, diabetic neuropathy, age greater than 60 years, and presence of renal disease. Most of these studies were conducted in Latin America and Europe, and the populations evaluated belonged to hospitals and polyclinics. In conclusion, the study of risk factors associated with diabetic foot is essential to understand and address this complication effectively. The identification and consideration of these factors, both in research and clinical practice, are fundamental to advance the prevention and treatment of the diabetic foot in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus |

Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo identificar los factores de riesgo asociados al pie diabético, mediante una revisión sistemática basada en las directrices PRISMA ScR y los manuales JBI, con el protocolo registrado en OSF. De la misma forma, el registro del protocolo de la revisión sistemática, se lo realizó en OSF La búsqueda se realizó en bases de datos como PubMed, Redalyc, SciELO y Science Direct, utilizando descriptores y operadores booleanos. Se incluyeron un total de 12 estudios que evaluaron los diferentes factores de riesgo asociados al pie diabético en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Los resultados mostraron que los principales factores de riesgo asociados al desarrollo del pie diabético son: niveles elevados de colesterol y triglicéridos, hipertensión arterial, índice de masa corporal (IMC) alto, duración de la diabetes mayor a 10 años, neuropatía diabética, edad superior a 60 años y presencia de enfermedad renal. La mayoría de estos estudios se realizaron en América Latina y Europa, y las poblaciones evaluadas pertenecían a hospitales y policlínicos. En conclusión, el estudio de los factores de riesgo asociados con el pie diabético es esencial para comprender y abordar esta complicación de manera efectiva.
