| Summary: | Despite the increase in chronic kidney disease terminal (ESRD), most subjects with early stages of CKD are not diagnosed or treated in a timely manner. Early detection of CKD in the context of primary health care (PHC) is of vital interest because it facilitates early intervention, work on risk factors and establish appropriate drug therapy, to try to prevent or slow the progression of nephropathy. The aim of this study was to detect early CKD in patients at high risk. It was a study in 100 patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension who had no previous diagnosis of CKD. We included data such as serum creatinine (SCr), sex, age, race, and time of evolution. We used the MDRD-4 CKD staging. In the classification, most are stage 2 (60%), followed by stage 1 (27%), the predominant age group was 50-70 years (mean 62 years) were 73% women. The 11.2% of patients with CKD were hidden behind normal SCr values. In conclusion, the use of the MDRD-4 APS query to detect a significant number of patients with CKD with serum creatinine within the normal range, especially in patients with risk factors. |
