| סיכום: | The following research, called pictographic reading in the development of oral language, has a general objective to determine the determine the frequency of how often pictographic reading is used in the oral language in third grade students that attend Adolfo Valarezo High School, to comply with it was determined: to identify the theoretical contributions on the frequency of pictographic reading in the development of oral language, to diagnose the level of incidence of pictographic reading in the teaching and learning process, and to design a didactic guide based on the pictogram for the improve of the reading-writing process in the students. To carry out this study, a descriptive type of research was used, with a quali quantitative approach and non-experimental design, during the process, the scientific, analytical, inductive, deductive and statistical methods were applied, the techniques used were observation, interview and bibliographic research, in the same way the investigative material used were a checklist, these materials contributed significantly to data collection, the researched population were students from "Adolfo Valarezo" Educational Unit. It is important to mention that the results of the research indicate that pictographic reading has a significant impact on the development of students´ oral language skills, allowing to write the conclusions and recommendations, through which the application of a didactic guide was carried out, where pictographic reading helped students to develop their linguistic skills.
