| Summary: | Peace is related to an ideal state of happiness, freedom and harmony among all people, organizations and nations, the same that throughout the world and in Ecuador is measured by two indices: the first corresponds to the global peace index, which is the main global measure of global peace, which is made up of twenty-two qualitative and quantitative indicators, which are related to the level of social security and protection; the scope of the national and international conflict and; the degree of militarization. The second is called the positive peace index, which contains eight indicators that measure the attitudes, institutions and structures that create and sustain peaceful societies. Under this context, the research seeks to analyze global and positive peace in Ecuador based on data obtained from the Vision of Humanity Organization, which is a reliable source, constantly updated and prepared by economists from highly prestigious universities. To understand and comply with the object of study, the evolution of the indicators that measure this section is analyzed from 2011 to 2021. Within the research, the most relevant results are that a normative recognition of peace is evident, that peace overall in Ecuador during the 10 years of study has remained more or less stable, in fact, the data mentions a slight improvement. It is important to note that, although the index incorporates multiple variables, in the Ecuadorian case, this improvement contradicts other indicators such as the rate of violent deaths that has increased due to the presence of national and international cartels; which makes us think about the need to create national indices, sensitive to variables unique to our country, which the international source does not consider when building the database. |
