總結:Summary The lack of affection indicates the situation of a child who had suffered or suffers from deprivation of the relationship with his mother, or a maternal substitute, and who suffers from the deficit of the affective attention necessary at an early age. The current research is an analytical and cross-sectional study that determined the relationship between the affective deficiency syndrome and the growth-development of children under 4 who attend the “Buen vivir” children's center in Catamayo. A data collection sheet was used with 50 children, including the variables of weight, height, head circumference and growth curves. The Denver II test was also used to evaluate the psychomotor development, and a survey was conducted to the parents in order to identify the presence of symptoms of affective deficiency syndrome. The following results were obtained. 66% of the population presented characteristics of the affective deficiency syndrome. In addition, 28% of the children in study showed an inadequate height/age; in terms of weight 10% showed a low weight/age, which contrasts with the results obtained from the body mass index, which shows alteration by 52%. The data obtained on the development instead showed affectation in 80% of the children under study; in relation to the relationship between affective deficiency syndrome and growth/developmental alterations according to the Odds Ratio, there is an association; however, because of the small number, it was not statistically significant; so it would be convenient to deepen the study with more children. In spite of this, the present investigation demonstrated the presence of affective deficiency syndrome, and its repercussions on growth and development such as: short stature, inadequate weight, inadequate body mass index, as well as delayed psychomotor development. Keywords: Affective care deficit, affective deficiency syndrome, psychomotor development.
