| Resumo: | The present work shows the process carried out during the development of an implementation of a vehicle traffic simulation environment for the study of urban traffic problems in the city of Loja, whose objective is to analyze the current traffic control status in the city of Loja. city, as well as analyze and implement a control strategy using intelligent traffic light techniques as a possible alternative solution, implemented in a micro and macro simulation environment. In order to obtain real data related to the road network, the traffic and the configuration of the traffic lights, information was requested from the Transit and Land Transport Municipal Unit of the city of Loja, which provided information such as the current semaphore strategy (Coordinated control of intersections with fixed time), the real and correct location of the traffic light network of the city, etc. On the other hand, valuable information was obtained based on field work such as vehicle traffic factors, vehicular traffic and traffic volumes at certain intersections. For the implementation of the control strategy using intelligent traffic light techniques (Acted type strategy, traffic response and based on traffic-sensitive control strategies), a review was made of the existing strategies used worldwide for the control of traffic. Urban traffic systems through traffic light intersections. The creation of realistic and properly simulated instances was built on a free software traffic simulator called SUMO, on the WINDOWS platform. The experimental analysis compares the numerical results obtained in the macro and micro simulation regarding the use of the current traffic control strategy and the proposed intelligent control strategy. The results obtained show that in the case of the micro simulation the capacity of the intelligent control strategy is able to improve the pollutant emissions (CO2, CO, PMx, HC, NOx) generated by vehicles up to 14.8%, the consumption of fuel (fuel) 13.9%, the amount of noise 1.5%, traffic volume is reduced considerably to 67.4%. As for the macroscopic simulation, the current traffic control strategy capability improves in some cases the number of vehicles in the network 9.24%, number of vehicles that have reached 1.9%, collisions 4%, average speed 7.7% density 2.1% and vehicular flow 5.7%. |
