Riassunto:The present work focuses on analyzing the inclusion and the role that women play in sports journalism since factors such as dedication, opportunities, time, among others, have influenced not to be linked to the sports programs of the traditional media of Loja, for this purpose, objectives were raised such as evidencing in the historical context the inclusion of women in the sports specialty and the possible evolution until 2018, as well as identifying sports programs and the intervention of women, managing to study the roles they fulfill the women within the sports programs of the traditional media of Loja. In addition, this research has a literature review, which explains the theoretical concepts necessary to support this work and then present the methodology and instruments, in the latter, interviews with sports journalists and media directors were used, where it was possible know the history of sports journalism and how women have managed to interfere in this medium; The following was the observation sheets that allowed to know that there is still little female participation in the sports programs of the city of Loja and with the data coding sheets, the most common roles that women play in sports programming are known as secondary, reporter and commercial voice; and, lastly, it was the surveys carried out to the distant public which indicated that they had acceptance towards the female presence in sports journalism, while the directors of the traditional media that have sports programming indicated that women do not have continuity within the sports spaces, nevertheless, they indicated that they have the predisposition to accept them within their programs and to the sports journalists who mentioned not suffering any type of discrimination within the sports specialty.
