Riassunto:This thesis was made according to the provisions of Regulation Academic Board of the National University of Loja. The central problem of the research is what in the incidence of family functioning in the oral language development of children? He was raised as General Objective: To determine the incidence of family functioning in oral language development in children of first year of basic education. The specific objectives that were raised were: Establish family functioning of the children in First Year Basic Education and Evaluating Oral Language Development of Children First-Year Basic Education. The methods used for the preparation of this research work were: Scientific, inductive, deductive, analytic, synthetic, Model statistically, the same that served effectively help to achieve the proposed goal. The techniques and instruments used were: Test Family Apgar Smilkstein, applied to families of children First-Year Basic Education Fiscal Mixta "Febres Cordero" School of the canton Marcabeli to establish the Family Functionality and Test Zimmerman, applied to children first-year Basic Education "Febres Cordero" Marcabeli School Canton, to assess oral language development. We conclude that: The highest percentage of parents investigated located in a score of 4-6 points is equivalent to a probable family dysfunction, fewer have a score of 7-10 points equivalent to a family functioning; and 23% receive a score of 0-3 points is equivalent to a need for immediate support. Zimmerman test determines that: The highest percentage of children and girls investigated are in the range of 30 to 40 which corresponds to a development of Oral Normal Language, a small percentage is in the range 10 to 20 corresponding to Low; and a minimum percentage is in the range of 50 to 80 equivalent Excellent
