| Shrnutí: | The research titled: Recreational reading to enhance learning in language and literature, sixth grade, 'Elvia Bélgica Jiménez de González' educational unit, Loja, 2023-2024' aims to assess the significance of recreational reading in enhancing Language and Literature learning for sixth- grade students at Elvia Bélgica Jiménez de González Educational Unit, Loja, during 2023-2024. This research adopts a descriptive approach with a mixed methodology and a quasi- experimental design. The theoretical framework delves into topics related to recreational reading and learning in Language and Literature. Methodologically, scientific, analytical, synthetic, statistical, and descriptive methods were employed. Information was gathered through interviews with the teacher, and a diagnostic evaluation related to Language and Literature learning was administered to the students. The research population includes one teacher and twenty-one students. The results allow us to determine that the majority of students require significant improvement in Language and Literature learning. To address this, the proposal 'Read, Learn, and Dream' was designed, incorporating activities based on recreational reading. Following its implementation and to showcase the achieved improvements, a second evaluation was conducted, demonstrating substantial enhancements.
