Sumario:In the current work called "Geological-geotechnical study for the construction of the sanitary landfill of the Municipal GAD of the El Pangui canton, province of Zamora Chinchipe." The geology, physical-mechanical properties and engineering parameters of 17 hectares that were destined for said project are disclosed. In this research, the topography was carried out at a scale of 1:1000 with the use of the total station and using field cards, the geological information of the area was collected in detail, obtaining as a result clayey-sandy material, which is found on the quartzose sandstones from the Hollín formation and a moderately undulating to moderately dissected relief. This geological and topographic survey served to determine the most impermeable areas that meet the requirements for the construction of a landfill. With the intention of determining the physical-mechanical properties, the municipal GAD hired a technical team, which carried out a total of 8 SPT tests, at a maximum depth of 3 to 6 meters; thus obtaining the bearing capacity and soil samples at each meter of depth. In the laboratory, with the data and samples obtained in the field, the following were obtained: moisture content, ASTON AND SUCS classification, permeability and the admissible capacity of the soil. The results presented in this degree work will be an input in the planning of the construction of this work. In this way, by combining the geological-geotechnical information, the engineering parameters that supported the adequate construction of the landfill were obtained. Since these determined the stability of their slopes, the production of leachate, useful life and, above all, the viability of the project. Keywords: topography, geological, geotechnical, engineering parameters, bearing capacity.
