| الملخص: | Drug addiction is a problem that directly affects teens, since for these substances involuntary acts committed against the people around, this behavior pattern leads to serious problems: truancy, legal problems, family relationships, etc. One of the most common drug is cocaine is a strong central nervous system stimulant. The risks and harm associated with inhaled cocaine effect varies with the degree of intensity of addiction. Note that this can be very dangerous because it can lead to an overdose, causing cardiac arrest or respiratory arrest, and end the life of the person. Given that students are a group that is exposed to the easy access to drugs was proposed: Determine cocaine in urine by the method multidrug in basic level students Adolfo Valarezo High School of the city of Loja for which was raised to determine the presence of cocaine and relate the positive cases the triggers that affect consumption identified through a survey. This study was descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional, the same that was applied to 201 students who met all inclusion criteria. Concluding so by the analysis results were not positive while by applying a survey found that 3% had consumed any drugs sometime in their life.
