Summary:The present research is a qualitative and quantitative study, descriptive cross-sectional, in children of 5 years of school San Francisco de Asis of Loja city in 2013, in which development is assessed psychomotor male and female students of the age group to identify gaps and possible risk factors that alter its proper development. For the collection of this information was applied directly Denver standardized test to 120 children, after analyzing the information was obtained: the total sample 85% had a normal result, 8% have had a failure, 3% one equivocal, 2% showed abnormality and 2% of children was done due to continuous rejections. As the area of ​​language where there are more alterations. The abnormal results are applied to the fathers or representative, the interview is focused on the risk factors of the subject of study, no found direct correlation has been found with any risk factors but can be put on show that children with abnormal results were not enrolled in early learning courses. The faults and test results found no history doubtful relevance. Showed the results to teachers and authorities of the institution in which they explained the importance of psychomotor development, and were instructed on completing the test for that in the future they will be able to apply it to future generations and thus can prevent deficiencies in developing children.
