सारांश:This research paper entitled: MOTIVATIONAL TECHNIQUES TO DEVELOP THE HABIT OF READING IN SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS sublevel BASIC MEDIA CITY SCHOOL " BISHOP JORGE GUILLERMO ARMIJOS " DEL BARRIO CONZACOLA , PARISH THE VALLEY OF THE CITY OF LOJA , PERIOD 2013 - 2014, had overall objective is pursued through the application of motivational techniques, reading habits to develop critical thinking in and seventh graders in elementary and secondary sublevel of the Municipal School "Monsignor Jorge Guillermo Armijos " Quarter Conzacola , parish Valley City Loja, period 2013-2014 ; the same as I make possible to investigate motivational reading techniques used by teachers to promote reading habit among students. Inductive -deductive method, descriptive method, collecting information of the population became feasible empirical support to the theoretical part: To conduct the research process the following methods were used. Moreover, the same survey technique was applied to teachers and students of the educational institution to obtain timely information was used. In the research process participated as human talents: 3 teachers and 23 students from seventh grade Sublevel Basic Media, which allowed achieving its aims. After the analysis and interpretation of data, the following results were obtained: that teachers are not trained in motivational techniques to encourage reading habits in students, so it is necessary to educate teachers about the importance of reading within the educational process, because reading is considered as the most important learning tool because it helps build vocabulary, understand, interpret and relate a text, because reading promotes the development of the child and hence knowledge be lasting and meaningful.
