The city of Puyo with the passage of time has experienced rapid growth of its population; hence the accumulation and increased waste generation is notorious, which has carried out a problem in the management of urban solid waste from its starting point in the collection to final disposal at the landfill. Besides lifting the environmental baseline in the area of direct and indirect influence, the same consisting of three factors was conducted: biotic, abiotic and socio-economic, as means that the current analysis of the landfill, collection services both the city and its parishes and sweeping main avenues and streets. while continuing International Standards and Mexican Standards NMX-AA-015, 019, 022-1985, which led the completion of the quartering method, product classification, volumetric weight and finally know the product per capita of the population being of 0.84 kg / person / day; For the management of municipal solid waste, environmental sustainability alternatives proposed through technical studies applied in the area, cartographic designs for proper use Landfill and proposal of a Solid Waste Comprehensive Plan that minimizes operating costs of the collection service and the transport and final disposal, on the other hand the study serves as a contribution to the development of the community of Canton Pastaza.
