要約:Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is termed as a systemic autoimmune pathology associated with a chronic inflammatory process, which causes pain, swelling, and stiffness in the joints, with consequent destruction, deformity, and disability, and in more severe cases can affect extra-articular organs. A current hypothesis about its etiology is that dysregulated citrullination leadsto the production of anti-citrullinated protein antibodies(ACPA). The serological markers rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies (ANTI-CCP) have been studied for years, these antibodies have shown an early detection of the disease because they are detected even up to 10 years before the onset of clinical manifestations being associated to the pathogenesis of the disease, as well as to the prognosis, diagnosis and follow-up of RA. The present research work had a qualitative approach, non-experimental type of relational crosssectional, the study subjects were a total of 80 relatives of patients diagnosed with RA who attend outpatient clinic at the Isidro Ayora Hospital, to whom the analysis of blood samples was performed using the RFtest by latex agglutination technique and the determination of AntiCCP by ELISA immunoassay technique. The results obtained showed that a total of 11.3% had anti-cyclic citrullinated citrullinated peptide antibodies and 16.3% were positive for rheumatoid factor. From the results obtained it can be concluded that 8.8% of patients are likely to develop severe rheumatoid arthritis, since both tests were positive, which increases the specificity for the presumptive diagnosis of the disease
