As noted in my thesis substantiate and demonstrated to be reformed Article 134 of the Mining Act by modifying the amount of investment to be considered as artisanal minersEl Art. 134 de la Ley de Minería estipula que para que la minería sea considerada artesanal no haya una inversión superior a las ciento cincuenta remuneraciones básicas unificadas, que da la cantidad de cuarenta y siete mil setecientos dólares y si se asocian tres o más la inversión no debe ser superior a noventa y cinco mil cuatrocientos dólares. Estas cantidades aparecen exageradas, pues la minería artesanal no podría ser artesanal con dichas cantidades de inversión ya que ningún minero artesanal tiene tal cantidad de dinero, ello permite que los mineros puedan hacerse pasar como mineros artesanales para obtener los beneficios de éstos sin ser realmente artesanales sino grandes mineros.
