Edición y difusión del repertorio pianístico del compositor José María Bustamante Palacios. Décadas 1930 a 1980

The publication of musical works worldwide is relevant to the knowledge of repertoires. Through it, at present, the value of the musical repertoire of various genres and composers is enjoyed. In Ecuador, most of the patrimonial musical production has not been completely accessible since it is unpublished and protected in different spaces not necessarily suitable for its protection. This situation has brought how consequence that much of this music is not known, and therefore it is not interpreted. In the present work, it was proposed to carry out a process of the critical edition of works belonging to the piano repertoire of the Lojano composer José María Bustamante Palacios, located in the Museo de la Música Salvador Zaragocín Tapia in the city of Loja. The general objective consisted of editing and disseminating the piano repertoire of the composer in mention as a contribution to the development of the local and country musical heritage. The archival work allowed us to identify all the works and later select those belonging to the composer's piano repertoire. We worked with a population of 11 people, which helped to confirm that the composer's musical repertoire has not been disseminated, considering the creation of these investigative works where Ecuadorian and Lojano musicians are considered necessary and relevant. In conclusion, this research indicates that the musical catalogue of José María Bustamante Palacios includes a great variety of mainly national genres corresponding to the category of light music, and most of his work has not been made known to society. For this reason, the critical edition and dissemination of the piano work will allow the interpretation and enhancement of this repertoire in the city and country.
