Diagnóstico situacional turístico de la parroquia rural Limones del cantón Zapotillo de la provincia de Loja

In the South of Ecuador , in Loja Province is located Limones Parish 16.50 km from Zapotillo Canton with an area of 168 km2, This Parish has significant resources to be exploited for tourism sustainably. Tourism Administration Career in representation of the Universidad Nacional de Loja within their degree program had the need to do tourist diagnoses in the province, through agreements made by an engagement letter with a duration of five years; in the tourist diagnosis is discussed and described the current status of a destination, it is also a source of direct information allowing taking decision for future strategies, plans and projects. It is the starting point on which all tourism planning process is based. Field trips to the study area were carried out and were determine the existing problems of the place and the lack of a diagnosis so the "Diagnosis Situation of Rural Tourism Parish Lemons Zapotillo Canton of Loja Province” project is developing, broadening initiative to progress in tourism in the parish. Achievable goals were established, that allowed to use the resources and develop strategies to the development of the parish, as a general objective of this work is to identify alternatives of tourism development of Limones Parish Zapotillo Canton through a Tourist Diagnosis. And the three specific objectives are : To characterize the Current Situation of Tourism in Limones Parish of Zapotillo Canton with opportunities and limitations; To determine the composition of the Tourist Supply and Demand of the Parish and finally ; Designing Strategies of Tourism Development of Limones Parish. To develop the first objective different methods were used: Scientific, synthetic analytical, bibliographical descriptive and techniques such as: direct observation, interview and survey, through field trips that contributed to the fulfillment of the objectives. In the second objective scientific and bibliographic methods were used and also the observation technique that enabled to elaborate the tourism inventory development of the Limones parish using the methodology of the Ministerio de Turismo and technical precision instruments; to the analysis of 5 the Demand it was used the survey, to get the exact number of records surveys it was necessary to use the register of tourist information offices this questionnaire was applied to tourists who have visited the parish. Finally it should be emphasized that to the design of strategies referred to in the third objective MARPP technique was used consisted of a participatory workshop where stakeholders participated in the design of a FODA matrix whose results allowed establishing tourism development strategies through the establishment of future projects to promote tourism development and improve the quality of life for residents. The results obtained are verified that it was possible to integrate the components of the tourism system gathering necessary information, the determination of the offer that shows the tourist potential: La Reserva La Ceiba, El Rio Alamor, Las Fiestas de Parroquialización, La Quebrada de Malvas, The Food and the Florecimiento de los Guayacanes. With this information it was possible to conclude that the Limones Parish has great tourism potential with cultural and natural attractions, some are not either tourism exploited for lack of infrastructure, signage and trained people to serve tourists, Besides the limited diffusion of this place. There is a lack of support from public institutions related to tourism, as currently only receives from Zapotillo Government. Therefore, it is necessary to recommend Zapotillo Government and its inhabitants, use and exploit the tourism resources they have, start business, train local people to become guides, customer service and perform mass campaigns using media more effective. The Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Environment, and Universidad Nacional de Loja should work together, attract development and progress. At First the government and who is interested to take into account this research work as a basis for future tourism development projects of Lemons Parish.
