| Streszczenie: | Self-esteem is a staple in the personal development of children. From his self-esteem its development depends on learning, on good relationships, activities, and why not say, in the construction of happiness. This research is a descriptive study, the question raised is “SELF-ESTEEM IN THE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF STUDENTS OF THE EIGHTH YEAR OF GENERAL EDUCATION BASIC MORNING SECTION OF EDUCATIONAL UNIT BERNARDO VALDIVIESO CITY LOJA, ACADEMIC SESSION 2012 - 2013” After a thorough analysis of the issue raised the need for the following research methods were established: scientific, deductive - inductive, descriptive, literature, analytical, synthetic and statistical; the survey technique was handled; Test instruments were Lucy Esteem Reidl adapted by Dr. Dávila Acosta and systematization sheet. Obviously, to fulfill the same general was established to analyze the influence of self-esteem on academic performance of students. Being specific objectives: Determine your type of self-esteem, academic performance identify and establish the relationship between the two. Upon completion of the investigative work it allowed us to establish that, according to the Davila test adapted from Dr. Acosta, 77% of students have average self-esteem, a situation that is repeated in the survey of teachers, where 80% had grade mentioned self-esteem; compared to 74% of students achieving the required learning being only 14% who dominate. It is therefore concluded that there is a direct correspondence between the self-esteem of students and their academic performance, both variables being at an average grade |
