| Sumari: | The research work entitled "Geomorphological survey at a scale of 1:10,000 with the use of the GIS tool of the rural parish of Santiago, canton and province of Loja" has as its main purpose the elaboration of geomorphological cartography, being this one of the main parameters for the survey of information that allows the determination of areas susceptible to mass movements; for this purpose, it was essential to have a DTM of the study area with a resolution appropriate to the scale of the work, since from this model it is possible to obtain a series of inputs that allow us to recognize the geomorphological units such as the following: slopes, hydrographic network, watershed, contour lines and terrain morphometry, mainly. Three objectives were proposed, which helped the realization of this work in a systematic way. The first objective was the generation of the relief indexes of Santiago parish; the methodology proposed by the Ministry of Environment (2013) in its project "Model of Geomorphological Units for the Cartographic Representation of Ecosystems in Continental Ecuador" was used to carry out this objective, this was done using the DTM with a resolution of 3m x 3m obtained from SIGTIERRAS and for its processing the ENVI 5.3 software was used to obtain the morphometry of the parish, which is a necessary variable for the subsequent recognition of geoforms; the second objective was the photo interpretation of geoforms; and to carry out this task, orthophotos of the year 2021 with a resolution of 0.3 m x 0.3 m obtained from SAS Planet software were used in addition to inputs such as morphometry, slopes, shadow model and hydrographic network primarily, and the geoprocessing was carried out in ArcGIS 10.5 software, obtaining a total of 11 types of geomorphological units, which have been named according to the methodology of the Ministry of Environment (2013), the mountainous relief is the most dominant in the parish, while the medium hills occupy the smallest territorial extension; finally, the last objective was the validation of the cartography obtained through the survey of primary information for the corroboration of the geomorphology, geology and landslides as part of the morphodynamics, thus obtaining the final geomorphological map corresponding to the Santiago parish at a scale of 1:10,000.
