Shrnutí: | The objective of the present investigation was the implementation and nutritional assessment of protein banks, determining the forage potential and the nutritional value, with the purpose of contributing to improve the food-nutritional regime of ruminants, increase productivity and reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. The experiment was carried out in the Changaimina parish, Gonzanamá canton, Loja province, through a randomized block design with four treatments and four repetitions in a total area of 400 m2, with 16 m2 plots, and 1 m2 roads; Four multipurpose species were evaluated: Botón de oro (Tithonia diversifolia), Quiebra barriga (Trichanthera gigantea), Matarratón (Gliricidia sepium) and Leucaena (Leucaena leucocephala). The variables evaluated were: percentage of yield, number of leaves, plant height, biomass yield, chemical composition, palatability and production costs. The results, the highest potential index for the Botón de oro and Leucaena tracker that is evidenced in the highest percentage of yield (91,7% and 100%), number of leaves (117 and 73), plant height (36,5 and 45,8cm) biomass yield (5,4 and 2,5 kg/m2). The bovine consumption test, better palatability in Leucaena and Matarratón with 85,9% and 88,0% respectively. The chemical composition showed a higher dry matter content in Leucaena with 33,2%; Crude protein levels ranged from 19,9% in the Botón de oro and 27,9% in the Matarraton; while the raw fiber content did not vary between species, with values that did not exceed 14%. Likewise, the production costs did not exceed $ 2000. In concluding that the Botón de oro and Leucaena, present better adaptation to the agroecological conditions of the area so they can be a good alternative for the implementation of protein banks in the province of Loja, for its good forage and nutritional potential; palatability is greater for Matarratón and Leucaena; The nutritional composition is higher in the Matarratón, the production costs per hectare not specifically affected among the species. Key words: Multipurpose plants, yield, palatability, nutritional value, food, ruminants. |
