Necesidad de incluir los 16 años como edad mínima para la imputabilidad penal en adolescentes infractores por delitos contra la inviolabilidad de la vida, integridad sexual y el derecho a la propiedad en el Código Orgánico Integral Penal.

This research project entitled: "The need to include the age of 16 as the minimum age for criminal responsibility for juvenile offenders for crimes against the inviolability of life, sexual integrity and the right to property in the Comprehensive Criminal Organic Code" , has highlighted the importance of the study and analysis of the field of juvenile delinquency, due to the fact that the lack of implementation of a system that allows for the attribution of adolescents from the age of 16 who have been actors in serious crimes, is a violation of human security and does not guarantee the comprehensive rehabilitation of the victim, rights that are stipulated in the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador. The analysis carried out shows that adolescents who have reached the age of 16 have the necessary capacity and discernment to declare their imputability, measure of the utmost importance in order to fulfil the purpose of punishment which is the rehabilitation of the offender and the reparation of the victim, as well as to reduce organized crime and the recruitment of adolescents into adult-led criminal gangs.
