Résumé:The objective of the research is to determine the level of stress and anxiety, and to see if there is a correlation between stress and anxiety, in students of the José Julián Andrade Educational Unit of the Montufar Canton of the Carchi province. Descriptive study, quantitative approach, non-experimental observational type, prospective cross-sectional cohort. There were a total of 160 students from the third year of unified high school from the “José Julián Andrade” Educational Unit. Three items were applied: the sociodemographic data collection form, the SISCO Inventory of Academic Stress, the Beck Anxiety Scale (BAI). The results of the Academic Stress Inventory show that 57% present a moderate stress level and 31% present a severe anxiety level. The results indicate that the global assessment of Stress- Anxiety is correlated in such a way that when performing the statistical test of Chi square, a value of 7.5126 was obtained with 1 degree of freedom and p = 0.006127; thus, these variables are significantly associated. The research showsimportant resultsin terms of Stress and anxiety and their relationship that is present in the students of the last year of high school at thisschool.
