Comparación del hidróxido de calcio y el silicato tricálcico con respecto a su efectividad en la protección dentino pulpar directa. Revisión bibliográfica

Direct pulp capping is a therapeutic measure where biomaterials are used to help preserve and protect exposed pulp tissues. This treatment covers the pulp tissue to isolate and protect it from external noxae that may limit its preservation and function. Through a regenerative process, the pulp can form reparative dentin to help seal the gap created by the exposure, therefore, the protective materials must have within their properties the ability to form the dentin bridge. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to compare the effectiveness of chemically pure calcium hydroxide and biodentine in direct pulp protection in terms of dentin bridging and its stability underlying the restorations. The present research is a bibliographic review, of a documentary, descriptive, transversal and analytical type, where the databases and search engines used for the collection of information were Google Scholar, Scielo, MedlinPubmed and Crochane where articles with a publication time between 2017-2022 were selected. For the elaboration of the results, we worked with a sample of sixteen that met the inclusion criteria. As a result of the research, it was determined that biodentine presented higher values in comparison with calcium hydroxide in terms of its effectiveness in the formation of the dentin bridge. It also presented higher values in sub restoration stability. Key words: Dental Pulp Coating, Pulp Coating, Calcium Hydroxide and Pulp Coating Materials.
