Sammanfattning:The study focuses on rhizosphere microorganisms in the Andean páramo, a high mountain ecosystem in the South American Andes known for its biological diversity and fragility. This work seeks to characterize rhizosphere microorganisms from the Andean paramo under laboratory conditions and evaluate their efficiency in the decomposition of needles in a plantation, for which, in the study phase, rhizosphere samples were taken at different altitudinal levels in the El Tiro sector, border of the Podocarpus National Park and the Cajas National Park. In the laboratory phase, a phenotypical characterization of the samples was carried out and they were sent to the MEDICULT laboratory for automatic identification through mass spectrophotometry, identifying 6 species of bacterial and fungal genera using the MALDI-TOF technique. The field trial was carried out in a Pinus patula plantation in the El Cristal private reserve. It was found that rhizospheric microorganisms did not present statistically significant differences in the decomposition process of pine needles. Climatic factors during the study include average temperatures and daily rainfall. The soil analysis revealed characteristics such as acidic pH, high content of organic matter and nutrients such as Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Sulfur, Potassium, Calcium and Magnesium. Finally, the importance of knowing the microbiota of Andean paramo soils for the correct functioning of ecosystems is highlighted. The potential of rhizospheric microorganisms in the decomposition of organic matter, their biotechnological capacity and the potential to be used in ecological restoration processes are mentioned. The potential of rhizospheric microorganisms in the decomposition of organic matter, their biotechnological capacity and the potential to be used in ecological restoration processes are mentioned. The impact of pine plantations on soil dynamics is also addressed. Environmental microbiology is presented as a key tool to understand the diversity and functions of microorganisms in natural environments.
