Description
Summary:This research arises from the need to identify manifestations of economic and patrimonial violence against women. Addressing this issue is crucial as it limits and controls the freedom of the victims, perpetuates injustices, and affects their well-being in multiple aspects, thereby violating their rights. The main objective of this study was to determine economic and patrimonial violence from the perspective of social workers and identify coping strategies. The research had a quantitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach; it is a cross- sectional study with a non-experimental design. A questionnaire with dichotomous (yes/no) questions was used to identify manifestations of economic violence, along with the Coping Strategies Inventory (CSI), involving 41 participants from the Economic Inclusion School in the city of Loja-MIES. The results revealed the presence of manifestations of economic and patrimonial violence, showing a high level of risk, and indicating a significant and normalized problem. Regarding the coping strategies used by women, some were positive, such as social support and problem-solving, while others were negative, such as social. The conclusion of the research highlights the prevalence of patrimonial violence among the participants, with the identified strategies indicating the need for interventions to strengthen these capacities. The intervention proposal suggests a multidisciplinary approach involving social workers to empower women, promoting their overall and financial well-being through education, awareness, and continuous support.
