| סיכום: | Colors are present in everything surrounds us, their correct perception is fundamental for development, communication and different learning processes, being an issue any deficiency in it, there are not many studies on color blindness worldwide and in our country information of this pathology is insufficient, so it is considered pertinent to know their prevalence, in a special way on children, inasmuch as an early diagnosis can impact positively their growth. The purpose of the present study is to determine the prevalence of color blindness in children from 5 to 9 years of the Open Hands Ministry of Catacocha’s Christian Center in June 2021, for those, a study with a quantitative, descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional approach was designed, composed for 152 children between 5 and 9 years old, who, after acquired informed consent, the Ishihara test was applied for the color blindness diagnosis, getting as results a prevalence of 1.32 %, whom 100 % of the cases corresponded to male sex, regarding to the color alterations present in this population, the total of cases corresponds to anomalous trichromatic patients, particularly with deuteranomalia; it concludes that color blindness is a pathology not very prevalent in our midst, occurs mainly in male and is recommended early diagnosis through the use of Ishihara test since the age of 5.
