Curva de tolerancia a la glucosa como prueba de tamizaje para la determinación de diabetes gestacional en pacientes gestantes que acuden al Centro de Salud Motupe

Gestational diabetes (DG) is a disease that is developed during pregnancy between weeks 24 to 28 of gestation, as a consequence of presenting intolerance to carbohydrates, as a result high blood glucose values are obtained that can trigger maternal-fetal complications. Therefore, the diagnosis must be early and opportune, the same that can be done through the O 'Sullivan test or the glucose tolerance curve. Therefore, the research was focused on detecting GD in pregnant patients who attend the Motupe Health Center in the period May-August 2020. The present study had a quantitative, non-experimental and cross-correlational design, made up of pregnant patients that were found within the required weeks of gestation, a survey of risk factors associated with this pathology and the enzymatic colorimetric method were applied for their subsequent relationship with risk factors using Chi-square. Obtaining a prevalence of GD of 6.9% (n=2) of a total of 29 pregnant women, in addition to finding a statistically significant relationship between polycystic ovary syndrome and hypothyroidism with DG. In conclusion, the positive cases of GD having as main risk factors age, polycystic ovary syndrome and hypothyroidism, however, there are other risk factors that did not have a statistically significant relationship with DG
