| Zusammenfassung: | The research titled "Mathematical Analytical Thinking of First-Cycle Students in Electromechanical Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Loja, Year 2023" aimed to evaluate the analytical-mathematical thinking skills of first-cycle students in the Electromechanical Engineering program at the university during the year 2023. Identifying numerical aptitude and assess students' abstract reasoning ability, a study with a quantitative approach and a field research design in the natural university environment was conducted. A structured questionnaire was administered to a representative sample of 30 students. The results revealed that a total of 24% of respondents have significant deficiencies in key areas such as fractions, ratios, proportions, and averages, highlighting the urgent need for educational interventions to improve academic training in Electromechanical Engineering from early stages. Nevertheless, it was observed that 60% of respondents show greater interest and understanding in abstract reasoning, indicating a strength that can be nurtured to enhance their academic and professional performance. It is concluded that effective educational measures such as early reinforcement programs, innovative pedagogical strategies, and continuous evaluation of educational programs should be implemented to improve these types of reasoning.
