Resumo:The research entitled Didactic Resources: effective mediators for developing comprehensive reading in fifth grade students of basic general education; has a general objective: To determine the importance of didactic resources in the development of comprehensive reading of fifth grade students of the "Alonso de Mercadillo" Basic Education School; in the theoretical framework, topics related to didactic resources and comprehensive reading were approached. This study was carried out under a descriptive type of research, mixed approach, quasi-experimental design; in the methodology we worked with the methods: scientific, deductive, inductive, synthetic, analytical, statistical, descriptive methods, which helped me to clarify the work of curricular integration given the base to the different postulates of the authors and based on them to infer criteria with the purpose of approaching the proposed topic; for the collection of information, the teacher and the students were interviewed through a non-probabilistic sample, a diagnostic evaluation designed by the researcher based on the curriculum of the Ministry of Education was applied; the results show the need to undertake actions to increase the level of reading comprehension of students, for that reason the alternative proposal called "The magical world of reading comprehension" was planned, which was successfully executed through a didactic guide of fifteen activities planned following the outline of the lesson plan, selected didactic resources exclusively to increase the level of reading comprehension of students. It is concluded that didactic resources are effective mediators to increase the reading comprehension level of fifth grade students.
