Ամփոփում:In the present investigation, the productivity and profitability of different food restriction programs in broiler chickens raised in the lower areas of Las Lajas canton, province of El Oro were evaluated. 300 broiler chickens of the Cobb 500 line were used, distributed in three groups, in A completely randomized design, each experimental unit consisted of 20 animals. Three treatments were evaluated: treatment 1 (positive control), was fed a diet recommended for the Cobb 500 genetic line. In treatment two (qualitative restriction), a diet was used with 10% less protein and metabolizable energy and incorporating fiber (5 - 7%). In treatment three (quantitative restriction), 10% of the food consumption table was restricted with respect to the consumption of the positive control group (treatment 1). Variance analysis of the evaluated indicators was performed. The productive parameters presented statistical differences (P <0.001), the animals with qualitative restriction reached greater weight with an average of 3063 g; food consumption was higher in treatment three with 5116 g; The best food conversion was presented in treatment two with 1.58. The quantitative restriction in the last weeks (final stage) achieved an important compensatory growth surpassing the control treatment. Ascites mortality was zero. In the economic parameters, treatments two and three were more profitable with 33.52% and 24.15% respectively. It is concluded that food restriction with high levels of fiber in broiler chickens can be an interesting alternative in low areas Key words: Restriction, qualitative, quantitative, mortality.
