Therefore, the present research focuses on analyzing the population of Loja concerning online betting. The general objective was to estimate the determinants of online betting of the Lojano population and to analyze the personal economy among the participating groups, this allowed first to identify all those existing characteristics within the population, whether social or economic. In addition, to visualize which of them are significant when a person chooses to place bets online throughout his life. Likewise, an economic comparison was made between the two groups to determine the economic standard of living and to visualize which of them is in a better position. The methodology used in this case was a descriptive, inferential, and explanatory analysis. The first was used to define the existing frequencies in the population for each characteristic addressed and to make an economic comparison between those who engage in this activity and those who do not. The second and third analyses were carried out by applying a binary logit model, which identified the variables that significantly impact online betting. The main results show that gender, marital status, economic burdens, and knowledge about online business have a positive influence on the performance of this activity, with men, married or free union, having up to 1 economic burden and with knowledge about online business having a higher probability of performing this type of activity. In conclusion, in the year 2024, the Lojano population that performs online betting is influenced by various socioeconomic factors. Therefore, several additional lines of research can be broken down, such as specifically identifying why these socioeconomic characteristics affect an individual's decision to engage in betting activities. |

El objetivo general que se planteó, fue estimar los determinantes de las apuestas online en la población lojana, para analizar la economía personal entre los grupos participantes, esto permitió primeramente identificar todas aquellas características existentes dentro de la población, ya sean sociales o económicas; además, de visualizar cuál de ellas son significativas al momento de que una persona opte por realizar apuestas online a lo largo de su vida. Asimismo, se logró realizar una comparativa económica entre los dos grupos para determinar el nivel de vida económica y visualizar cuál de ellos se encuentra en mejor posición. La metodología utilizada en este caso fue un análisis descriptivo, inferencial y explicativo. El primero se lo utilizó para definir las frecuencias existentes en la población por cada característica abordada, y para realizar una comparación económica entre aquellos que realizan esta actividad y los que no. El segundo y tercer análisis se llevaron a cabo mediante la aplicación de un modelo logit binario, con el cual identificó las variables que inciden significativamente en la realización de apuestas online. Los principales resultados muestran que el sexo, el estado civil, las cargas económicas y el conocimiento sobre negocios en línea influyen positivamente en la realización de esta actividad, siendo los hombres, casados o unión libre, que tengan hasta 1 carga económica y con conocimientos en negocios en línea tienen una mayor probabilidad de realizar este tipo de actividad. En conclusión, en el año 2024 la población lojana que realiza apuestas online está influenciada por diversos factores socioeconómicos.
