| Sažetak: | In this final year thesis project a solution is provided to the problems that students face from the forestry degree program within the Agricultural and Natural Renewable Resources Area of the National University of Loja, concerning the identification of forest plant species native to Ecuador, for which the analysis and implementation of a mobile field guide for the identification of native forest plant species of Ecuador. The Botanical Garden Reinaldo Espinosa of the UNL was used as a test, in order to provide an effective and efficient solution for the involved university community and society in general, according to current technological trends and taking advantage of mobile technology provides such as portability and ease of access to information amongst others. In this end of year thesis project SCRUM agile development methodology was used, which was adapted to the development of mobile applications, which allowed implementation and documentation of the project in an orderly and understandable manner. Due to the variety of operating systems for mobile devices existing today the need to deploy the application for platforms that dominate the university community involved, namely Android and iOS was also considered. For the development of the mobile application Apache Cordova framework was used which allowed the reuse of code when implementing the application on various platforms, thus reducing time, money and space. Using the tools and techniques outlined in this end of year thesis project, a successful construction of the mobile application was possible, as well as carrying out different tests with a variety of end users and technological tools in order to verify it functioned correctly. The mobile application has been published in the various official mobile application stores and can be found under the name EcuadorNatural. It is available free of charge to the university community and society in general. |
