Estudio de las costumbres y tradiciones de los habitantes del cantón Chaguarpamba provincia de Loja, en l periodo septiembre 2012 – mayo 2013, propuesta alternativa

Traditions and customs practiced in a village or a social conglomerate, are what characterize this place, is the letter that makes them different from other cultures or societies. Ancestral practices and knowledge that were inherited from the ancestors constitute a very important legacy, which become innate cultural richness of each people. Every day we witness the acculturation processes at different levels and different areas, during this process there is an exchange of cultural elements between different social groups, which results in the loss of cultural identity of the peoples of Ecuador (acculturation), it is a reality of life in recent years; however, the ancestral roots become the basis for survival and daily life mode. With this background, the idea to preserve and disseminate the cultural expressions that are practiced in the Chaguarpamba Canton, in order to educate its inhabitants in the ongoing practice to maintain strong cultural identity of the town. For the study and knowledge of the traditions and customs practiced in the canton in question, a survey was applied to 300 young people, whose objective was to know the different ways of life of the locals and the importance given to culture his own people. Such study provided the necessary guidelines to establish and identify traditional practices still preserved in this small corner of the country; so that it could meet the goals outlined in the research and make a proposal to establish rescue, dissemination and preservation of the same
