However, since 1907, Angle emphasized the importance of soft tissue and facial esthetics in dental treatment. He suggested that the harmony and balance of the face also depend more on the shape and beauty of your mouth. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile angle Arnett and Bergman as soft on the students of 18-30 years of the National University of Loja in the form of classroom studies tissues. The sample population was composed of 40 students who were able to be contacted and whose main requirement was that the present bilateral molars clinical examination classes. Average and standard deviation of 165.9 ± 6.40 men and women at 168.2 ± 5.17 or facial profile convexity was obtained. There were differences between the values found from those proposed by Arnett, these can be attributed to both anatomical structures and different ethnicities between the two populations and / or differences in methodology.
