Ամփոփում: | Learning in higher education institutions depends largely on the use of physical and audiovisual resources in environments and practice areas that allow the student to become familiar with information, content and experiences to which they will be exposed in their professional lives. Obstetric clinical practices such as fetal monitoring are essential to reduce fetal and maternal morbidity and mortality rates, for this reason, it is a basic requirement in health faculties that have simulation areas, the implementation of didactic material for the correct learning of medical practice. For this reason, a descriptive, prospective cross-sectional cohort study was developed with the objective of implementing a simulation workshop on the performance of Fetal Monitoring directed to the students of the ninth-cycle of the Medicine career of the National University of Loja, for which a teaching practice guide and a video were elaborated as educational resources, a simulation workshop was given to finally evaluate the knowledge they acquired through the application of the Structured Objective Clinical Evaluation. The evaluation was applied to a sample of 30 students obtained from a Universe of 63 students of the 9th cycle of medicine who met the inclusion standarts. The following results were obtained: 30% of the participating students obtained a very good score, followed by 36.66% with a good score; 13.33% showed a regular development of their skills and 20% with an outstanding score. Simulation-based learning is a very valuable teaching method, that integrates pedagogical, theoretical, disciplinary and technological areas, which improve and facilitate the learning of medical students to perform gynecological-obstetric clinical procedures |
