Shrnutí:In the context of the penitentiary crisis that is facing Ecuador, the analysis of the determining factors in the social reintegration process of individuals under a semi-open regime in the Sucumbíos Deprivation of Liberty Center becomes essential to understand the challenges and opportunities in rehabilitation. of the inmates. The semi-open regime, designed to facilitate a more gradual transition to freedom, is at the epicenter of a prison system marked by overcrowding, violence and a lack of adequate resources. Therefore, the general objective was proposed: To evaluate the effectiveness of the semi-open regime in people deprived of liberty at the Sucumbíos Deprivation of Liberty Center, in order to identify its impact on social reintegration and the reduction of criminal recidivism. For this study, a descriptive methodology was used, documentary research with a mixed approach from which a structured base survey was applied to 91 people deprived of liberty who are within the semi-open regime and an interview guide applied to five officials of the center, with the purpose of identifying the perceptions, obstacles and opportunities that affect the effectiveness of rehabilitation programs and that have a direct impact within the semi-open regime. The results obtained were that 56% of those surveyed consider that the semi-open regime has contributed to reducing the possibilities of criminal recidivism in their personal case. However, 44% believe that this regime has not had that effect, of the total number of people who are in this regime they have not reoffended criminally, that is, they have worked with the multidisciplinary team through psychological and emotional support, and with programs implemented by the National Social Rehabilitation System in order to achieve the social reintegration process of individuals under a semi-open regime.
