Description
Summary:Radio is a communication media that has been of great importance throughout history. It transmits contents such as: news, music, entertainment programs, being a fundamental ally in the construction of a critical and participative society. The objective of this research was to analyze the influence of the vocabulary used in the program “El Súper Show” of the Peruvian radio station La Karibeña 94.9 FM in the daily communication of the inhabitants of the Tacamoros parish of the Sozoranga canton, province of Loja. For this purpose, a mixed approach methodology was adopted, which included content analysis sheets of the program, surveys to a representative sample of Tacamoros inhabitants to capture their perceptions about the vocabulary used in the program and interviews to communication experts to explore the influence of foreign terms in the local language. The results showed that 48.3% of the surveyed inhabitants have integrated some of the expressions broadcast on “El Súper Show” in their daily communication. Although the impact is noticeable in certain segments of the audience, the program has not yet reached a generalized influence in the whole parish. The conclusions specify that, due to the high acceptance of this entertainment program in Tacamoros, the use of the vocabulary could progressively increase, consolidating its influence in the local identity.
