Summary:Dairy livestock systems represent a form of local economy in the province of Zamora Chinchipe, because the number of milk production has increased over the years. In this research thesis, a complete analysis of the dairy farming systems in the province of Zamora Chinchipe was carried out, addressing the various axes of economic, social and environmental sustainability with the main objective of understanding and improving their sustainability. the detailed identification of the practices used and the use of natural resources in these systems, with special emphasis on land, water and forage management. The perception of farmers regarding the sustainability of dairy farming was addressed, including the perception of the environmental and social impacts associated with said economic activity. In addition, the suggestion of sustainable management practices was included, as well as the formulation of strategies that can be implemented effectively. The main findings within this study were the awareness of livestock producers and knowing what strategies they are currently using for the production, marketing and diversification of dairy products, determining that there is environmental awareness but that more environmentally friendly practices are required. ecosystem. Therefore, its recommendations include promoting educational programs, generational transfer and innovative technology for the improvement of livestock activities.
