[CITATION Mec05 \l 3082 ] The bacterial plate is also combined with other components like the spittle which has carbonate calcium particles and other minerals because when they are accumulated by the time as a result of a poor hygiene will calcify the plate bringing as a consequence the tartar. [ CITATION MON10 \l 2058 ] This research has made ​​in order to know the "RELATIONSHIP OF ORAL HYGIENE INDEX WITH THE FREQUENCY AND DENTAL BRUSH TECHNIQUE IN MEN AND WOMEN OF 18- 30 YEARS STUDENTS OF NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LOJA PERIOD JULY CBMR 2014 ", using as sample 894 students, 442 men and 452 women in order to establish the level of oral hygiene, identify the most affected teeth, the brushing technique and frequency present in the oral cavity of the students. It was a cross sectional study was conducted through a clinic history, with the help of surveys to argue this research was conducted. The results of the clinical history is that the most students corresponding to 58.59% of men brush twice a day and the women by 48% is done on the same frequency; More teeth affected males are 34- 35 parts in which 52% of bacterial plaque and 45-46 the 43% to coronal level plaque was obtained. The brushing technique most commonly used in men was the horizontal technique by men 58% and women 69%, the vertical technique was used in 29% of men and 22% in women, and being the technical circular of lower employment rates presented 13% in men and 9% in women. The prevention is the best method to enjoy a healthy mouth, by employing techniques and simple and convenient tools in order to eliminate the bacterial plate, like the tooth brushing, the mouthwash, dental floss and the annual appointments with the odontologist.
